Getting to the Venue

The conference will take place at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences at Kloveniersburgwal 29 (Google Maps location) in the heart of Amsterdam, close to arterial roads and good public transport connections. We advise you to travel to our location by public transport or bicycle wherever possible.

Airports

The most convenient airport is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, with frequent train connections to the city center. Other options include Rotterdam The Hague Airport and Eindhoven Airport, which are also accessible by public transport, though they may require longer travel times.

From Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

Take the train to Amsterdam Central Station.

  • Transfer to metro lines 51, 53 or 54 and get off at Nieuwmarkt metro station. Follow the exit signs 'Nieuwmarkt exit'. The Academy is about 150 meters from the exit.

  • If you'd prefer to walk, the Academy is only ten minutes from Amsterdam Central Station on foot (750 meters).

By train

Take the train to Amsterdam Central or Amsterdam Amstel Station.

  • At Amsterdam Central Station, transfer to metro lines 51, 53 or 54 and get off at Nieuwmarkt (one stop, 3 minutes). Follow the exit signs 'Nieuwmarkt exit'. The venue is about 150 meters from the exit. If you'd prefer to walk, the Academy is only ten minutes from Amsterdam Central Station on foot (750 meters).

  • At Amsterdam Amstel Station, take metro lines 51, 53 or 54 traveling in the direction of Amsterdam Central Station. Get off at Nieuwmarkt (four stops, 7 minutes). Follow the exit signs 'Nieuwmarkt exit'. The Academy is about 150 meters from the exit.

By metro

  •  Take metro lines 51, 53, or 54 and get off at Nieuwmarkt. Follow the exit signs for "Nieuwmarkt Exit." The Academy is about 150 meters from the exit.

  • If you take metro line 52, get out at Rokin and follow the exit signs 'uit Spui'. The Academy is about 650 meters from the exit.  

By bicycle

You can park your bike in one of the unattended bicycle racks along Kloveniersburgwal.

By car

Kloveniersburgwal has very few parking spaces. The nearest parking facilities are Parkeergarage Stopera and Parkeergarage Waterlooplein.
