Call for Abstracts
Abstract Submission opens on September 1st, 2025
The 2026 Survival Analysis for Junior Researchers (SAfJR) conference invites abstract submissions for oral and poster presentations from statisticians at all career stages – especially PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, postgraduate students, and early-career ("newbie") researchers – who have an interest in survival analysis and related statistical areas.
SAfJR2026 welcome submissions on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:
Accelerated failure time models / Parametric survival analysis
Bayesian survival models
Biomedical applications
Causal inference
Clinical trial methodology
Conformal prediction in survival analysis
Cure models
Dynamic prediction
High-dimensional survival analysis
Machine learning / Targeted learning
Meta-analysis
Multistate models and competing risks
Non-proportional hazards
Pseudo-observations
Statistical software
The deadline for abstract submission is 15 October 2025, at 11:59 PM (CEST).
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the SAfJR scientific committee, and presenting authors will be notified of their abstract's status (oral presentation, poster presentation, or rejection) by early December 2025. Book prizes sponsored by Springer will be awarded for the best oral and best poster presentations.
All abstracts must be submitted online using the ConfTool platform; other submission methods will not be accepted. Please follow the instruction below.
Steps for abstract submission
Please make sure to follow these steps to successfully submit your abstract:
Create a user account: Before starting the abstract submission process, you will need to create a user account on the ConfTool platform at https://www.conftool.com/safjr2026
Verify your email: After creating your account, ensure that you verify your email address to activate your account.
Abstract submission: Once your account is set up, you have three options for abstract submission based on your preferred contribution type:
Talk preference
Please select this option if you wish to submit an abstract for an oral presentation (talk).Poster preference
Please select this option if you wish to submit an abstract for a poster presentation.No preference (talk or poster)
Please select this option if you have no preferences between submitting an abstract for an oral or a poster presentation.
Accepted submissions will either be included as contributed talks or poster presentations in the conference program, depending on preferences and available slots.
Please follow the ConfTool instructions. Each abstract submission must include the title, list of authors, and their affiliations, with a maximum length of 400 words. During the submission process, authors must select at least one topic from the list provided that best matches the content of their abstract, or select the option “other topic”.
